Birth Stories on Stage

Description

Join us on Wednesday, 15th April at 5 pm for Birth Stories on Stage. This fundraising event will be held at the M-Arts precinct in Murwillumbah, using their beautiful, state-of-the-art stage and facilities.

Tickets are $40, including a complimentary drink and the show. Raffle tickets are also available to purchase with your tickets (see below for more information).

We know that sharing birth stories offers healing to both the storyteller and the audience. Hearing about positive birth experiences can be empowering. Equally, when things don’t go as planned and a mama is brave enough to share her story, it helps other women who might face a similar situation.

We hereby invite you to the theatre to hear a program of stories, poems and drama about birth. We will hear from new mamas, dads and grandmothers, about hospital births, home births, ecstatic birth and unexpected outcomes.
This event is a fundraiser for the Birth Wellness Festival, which will be held in the Spring, details yet to be revealed.

Raffle:
We will also host a raffle to raise funds for the Festival, with prizes including consultations, massages, and vouchers donated by local birth and wellness practitioners; books by our local authors; crafts from our artisans; and more. Raffle tickets can be purchased with your event ticket here on Humanitix.

Wed, 15 Apr, 5pm - 9pm AEST

Moon Circle

First Moon Circle – Murwillumbah

A half-day rite of passage experience for girls aged 9–12 and their caregivers.

Puberty doesn’t begin with the first period. It unfolds gradually, often quietly, and many families are left wondering when or how to start the conversation.

First Moon Circles offer clear, age-appropriate education about puberty and the menstrual cycle, held with care and intention. The girls gather first to learn what is happening in their bodies and how to understand the changes ahead. In the second half, mothers or female caregivers join for shared wisdom and a meaningful rite of passage moment.

Each participant leaves with:
• A medically accurate take-home booklet
• A handmade keepsake
• A small gift bag
• Practical ways to talk about puberty at home for you & the family.

This experience is designed to feel grounded and supportive, not overwhelming.

If you are parenting a girl aged 9–12 and feel that this transition is approaching or already beginning, you are warmly invited.

Location: Murwillumbah
Date: 14th March 2026
Price: $220 per participant (GST included)

More information here: https://www.houseof13moons.com/faq-1

Spots are limited to keep the circle small and connected.

Embodied awareness Practice

Monica Casu

P: 0437 790 861
e: mcasu.it@gmail.com

With a background in yoga, hands-on bodywork, paintings, and herbal traditions, she approaches the body as a living narrative: one that speaks through tension, gesture, rhythm, and sensation. Her method avoids labels and avoids performance, instead, it focuses on curiosity, presence, and the simple intelligence of the body when it is given space to speak.

— About “The Body Speaks” —

The Body Speaks is an introductory class designed to reconnect you to your physical language. A facilitated journey to the subtle signals, instinctive movements, and internal rhythms that often get lost in everyday life. The session weaves together:

• sensory awakening
• guided breath patterns
• intuitive flow
• gentle movement expression

It is not a choreography, not a performance, and not therapy. It’s a container where you playfully learn to listen: to notice how your body communicates, how energy shifts, and how movement can clarify what words sometimes can’t. The class is accessible to all bodies and requires no previous experience. You only need openness, a willingness to explore, and a bit of trust in your own inner language.
